Following a recent Ofsted inspection, Little Stoke Primary School on Little Stoke Lane is maintaining its ‘Good’ rating.
The Ofsted inspector felt that the teachers have continued to develop the curriculum so that pupils extend their literacy and mathematical skills. For example, teachers further pupils’ scientific knowledge by giving them opportunities to write at length about their learning and to use their maths skills accurately when presenting information.
The learning environment demonstrates the high expectations the school has and the enriched curriculum on offer, for example in displays of pupils’ writing about Shakespearean plays, and high-quality learning about preventing bullying, science and mathematics.
It was felt that pupils enjoyed their learning and appreciated the school’s varied and interesting curriculum. Pupils described the “wide range of activities” that they enjoy, including learning musical instruments, painting and writing stories. One pupil’s comment, that the school is “positive and interesting, we learn a lot of new things”, was typical of pupils’ views.
