Pickleball is a seriously addictive, fun, social and friendly sport suitable for all ages that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. The courts are smaller than a tennis court and the racquets and balls are lighter. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. The sport is proving to be so popular that Bradley Stoke now has six outdoor pickleball courts at the Jubilee Centre, with support from the Town Council.
Avon Pickleball Club is offering free taster sessions if you want to try out the sport. It’s easy to learn and beginners are particularly welcome; most of us have only started playing in the last two years. Just wear trainers and comfortable clothes, all equipment is provided.
