Bradley Stoke resident Jed Ward made his England U-20s debut last month after a breakthrough campaign with Bristol Rovers.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper earned his first cap for the Young Lions when he played for the full 90 minutes for England Under-20s in a game against Sweden Under-21s, which England won.
A product of the Bristol Rovers’ Academy, Jed burst into the first-team set-up in the 2020/21 campaign. After impressing for the under-18s, Jed secured his first professional deal in February 2021.
He went from strength to strength after this point, progressing into the first-team picture due to the absence of Anssi Jaakkola through injury. Jed then made his first-team debut in the final game of the 2020/21 season, performing well against a promotion-bound Blackpool.
Jed has been a great success from the Rovers’ Academy following last season, during which he started 18 of their final 19 League One matches.
Jed signed a four-year contract with Rovers in March, so expect to hear much more from this golden boy.
