McDonald’s chip in to sponsor youth football

McDonald’s has sponsored Bradley Stoke Youth Football Club’s annual football festival.

The event offered parents a free and fun way to celebrate the summer of sport in style and keep their kids active and entertained over the weekend. Families were able to take part in coaching sessions and a series of inflatable experiences provided by McDonald’s, including a Dribble Tunnel and Speed of Shot.

Franchisee Mike Guerin and his restaurants have been supporting grassroots football in the community as part of McDonald’s Fun Football programme for many years. The festival marked Mike’s 20th anniversary of his sponsorship of Bradley Stoke Youth Football Club, which supports the youth team by funding new kits and training equipment.

Mike said: “I’m a proud supporter of grassroots football, so I was delighted to help facilitate this amazing football festival with Bradley Stoke Youth Football Club. What a way to mark 20 years of our partnership!

“It’s even more special this year as McDonald’s celebrates its 50th year in the UK.”

McDonald’s Operations Manager Mark Pickering has been a coach at Bradley Stoke Youth Football Club since 2017. He said: “Youth football is important for our community which is why we support local teams through each restaurant. The festival was a great way to provide a fun experience for the children who play with Bradley Stoke Youth Football Club, as well as children in the Bristol area who experienced football for the first time.”
