Regarding your item on Brooklands Park (November issue of Bradley Stoke Voice), the problem is developers have too much power and are generally supported by the Planning Inspector, who invariably sides with the developer and the local authority has to pay any legal costs for raising any objection. That is why we have these three storey houses with no parking or gardens.
Very few ordinary houses or bungalows are built because the developer can build many more properties on the land and make even more profits. There are also standing charges the residents have to pay, and sometimes leasehold contracts that will cause severe problems in future years.
