Family runs in memory of  ‘inspirational’ Calum

One of Bradley Stoke Voice’s own team, magazine distributor Oliver Morris, will be running the Bristol 10k this month in memory of his brother Calum, who died at the age of 19 following open heart surgery.

Oliver, who is just 16 years old, has distributed copies of Bradley Stoke Voice to people’s homes for several years. He was very close to Calum and feels he has lost a best friend as well as a brother.

Oliver is not the only member of the Morris family who will be running the Bristol 10k in honour of Calum.

Dad John and some of his team took on the Three Brooks parkrun as part of their training

Oliver will be joined on the starting line by their sister Elena and dad John. They will all be raising funds for the Wallace & Gromit Grand Appeal, which supported Calum and his family throughout his life.

Calum endured six open heart surgeries as well as numerous other medical interventions throughout his short life. John said: “The hospital charity offered us all support when we were in, including play therapy and music therapy to distract Calum for all the procedures.

“Calum in his short life inspired so many other heart families and volunteered at the Grand Appeal’s offices opposite the hospital, where he is greatly missed. We would love to help raise awareness of the great work the hospital and the children’s hospital played in Calum’s life.”

Elena is running the half marathon with their cousin Freya and family friend Jess. Together they are #TeamCalum. To sponsor the runners, please click the QR code below or visit: justgiving.com/page/oliver-morris-1775992288969
