The charity Headway Bristol has recently set up a new site in Bradley Stoke, in addition to its existing location at Barton Hill.
With more than 40 years of experience in helping survivors of brain injury to live as independently as possible, Headway supports people across Bristol, North and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire. They promote an understanding of all aspects of brain injury, focusing not just on the impact on the individual but also their families and others who care for them.
Headway’s services include running rehab centres five days a week, providing 1:1 outreach support, offering a social hub to everyone living with a brain injury, providing hospital navigators to support patients and their families through the hospital services, and Headway also offers a care and support team.
The charity relies on the help of volunteers and has many different ways for people to get involved. As a volunteer, you will receive appropriate training and support to confidently deliver your role. Students who have an interest in health and social care or psychology are also welcome to join Headway for work experience.
Headway operates from The Brightwell Centre on Wheatfield Drive in Bradley Stoke for two days each week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you would like to attend, you are asked to please phone first to make an appointment, 0117 462 6962.
