Abacus preschool in Stoke Gifford is celebrating having received a ‘good’ Ofsted result following a recent inspection.
Manager Jessica Starr said: ‘This was our first Ofsted inspection in our new premises within the community of Stoke Gifford and my first as a manager. I am extremely proud of the team who helped build, to quote the report, ‘this nurturing and inclusive setting, which feels very much like a home from home. The settings distinct character is rooted in its child-centred ethos, where every child is valued as an individual and their needs come first.’”
Jessica added: “When I became manager, it was really important to create an environment where children could feel safe, welcomed and celebrated for who they are. We are over the moon that this was recognised by the inspectors and will continue to ensure no child is left behind and that they are given the best start.”
The report noted: “Staff build strong, trusting relationships, creating a calm, purposeful environment where children feel secure, respected and confident to explore and learn. From the moment children arrive, they are welcomed warmly and supported to settle quickly. Staff are attentive and responsive, promoting children’s emotional and physical well-being through consistent routines and positive interactions. This nurturing approach supports all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).”
Abacus also has a setting in Bradley Stoke, next to Meadow Brook School, which is taking new registrations for September.
