April was World Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month and to mark this the South Gloucestershire branch of the National Autistic Society held two fundraising mornings at the Willow Brook Centre in Bradley Stoke.
The fundraising mornings were a place to talk about what it is like to be autistic and to promote the local branch which is run by volunteers and offers groups and activities for young people aged five to 25 with an autism diagnosis.
As a result of these two events at Willow Brook, the National Autistic Society has raised £471.60 which will go towards activities for local autistic young people and the charity has also gained quite a few new members, so the events were a great success all round.
The South Gloucestershire branch of the National Autistic Society is always on the lookout for more volunteers so they would love to hear from people. Full support and training is provided. You can contact the charity via email: southgloucestershire.branch@nas.org.uk
