Bob Macdonald, born on 28 April 1925, has celebrated his 100th birthday. This is a testament to a well-lived life and Bob does it with a smile on his face every single day.
Not only is this an incredible milestone to reach but Bob also continues to work at Patchway Community School, having never taken a day off work since joining as a caretaker in 1994.
Bob is an inspiration with his peers and the students alike, picking up the litter from around the school.
The school says its grounds are immaculate thanks to his hard work and dedication to the role. Bob turns up to work come rain or shine, and no matter the weather he gets the job done to an impeccable standard. Nothing is too much trouble for him.
Bob’s centenaruy was marked with recognition and thanks by Steve Kneller, headteacher, and Julia Anwar, head of business operations, from the Olympus Academy Trust. Colleagues who work alongside Bob say: “He is nothing short of a breath of fresh air, such a friendly and caring gentleman.” Another adds: “He never fails to ask how you are when he arrives for work and always makes time for pleasantries.”
Bob is highly respected and a role model in all that he continues to achieve.
Bob truly is a remarkable man and turning into a centenarian brings a special recognition from the monarch too. Congratulations and happy 100th birthday, Bob.
