Following the success of the Ukrainian School Bristol, which opened in 2024, the same team are pleased to have now opened the Ukrainian School South Gloucestershire in Stoke Gifford.
The school, based at St Michael’s Centre on North Road, is a place where children from displaced Ukrainian families can learn the Ukrainian language, build friendships and stay connected to their culture and heritage.
The school, which is a proud member of the Association of Ukrainian Teachers in Great Britain, provides Ukrainian language and cultural education for children of Ukrainian heritage aged five to 15 years.
The teaching team is made up of passionate volunteer teachers, who will work with pupils of different ages and ability levels.
The school hopes that within just a few weeks, children will begin learning about Ukraine’s traditions and history through play, while also enjoying the opportunity to communicate with peers in their native language in a friendly and supportive environment.
Children will be placed into appropriate groups after the first few sessions, based on their level of knowledge.
The school says: “Together, we are nurturing a love for the Ukrainian language and heritage in the hearts of our children.”
